Signs of Target Spot Tomato Plant disease normally occur on older leaves first. Potatoes leave normally show symptoms around flowering time. Small sunken appears on tubers. These can enlarge, until whole areas are sunken. Tomatoes; seedling show dark, sunken lesions at the soil line (“collar rot”). They can be killed outright. Stem of affected older plants show elongated marks. Fruit rot to one side of the stalk, the infection showing as a brown and black sunken area. The rotting extends down into the fruits.
